A digital music distributor is an entity that distributes music to streaming services (i.e. Digital Service Providers or DSPs such as Spotify, Apple, Amazon, Pandora, Deezer, etc.) on behalf of artists and labels, collects royalties from those DSPs and remits them back to the appropriate parties in exchange for a distribution fee.
