CWR stands for Common Works Registration and is a standardized data interchange format developed by CISAC to facilitate the communication of work and party information to and from PROs around the world. CWR files are a “flat file” format and require specialty software to generate them and parse them. They are therefore used mostly by major or large independent publishers.
