Generally speaking, if your business utilizes a background music service, you should verify with them whether your subscription fees include licenses with each of the five (5) US Performing Rights Organizations (PROs). Not all background music services obtain PRO licenses that cover uses of music in businesses. Other background music services come with only some PRO licenses, while others don’t come with any PRO licenses at all. In the latter case, many background music services encourage their subscribers to obtain licenses directly with PROs on top of their background music subscriptions.
If your background music subscription does not come with licenses from all PROs, it’s important to note that your business would be in violation of US Copyright Law the moment that it plays any unlicensed music. Without the proper licenses in place, your business will be at risk of incurring substantial statutory fines and penalties that grow with each unlicensed song played.

Some have claimed to have a PRO license in place with AllTrack. They may phrase this as “yes we have a license with AllTrack” or “our service comes with all PRO licenses”. If a background music service on the list above claims to have an AllTrack license, this would be a misrepresentation, and we would ask you to please notify us below. You may also contact us below to verify whether any other background service is licensed with AllTrack.
Other have claimed they do not play AllTrack music, so a license is not required. We have evidence of background music services playing AllTrack music that have claimed not to. It can be very difficult for background services to claim they do not play any AllTrack music, because old songs and new releases can have dozens of songwriters. On top of this, songwriters change PROs regularly. Businesses that use background music services that are unlicensed with AllTrack and play any AllTrack music are placing themselves at risk of significant financial penalty.
